NFL 2025 season: Week six

Real-time updates features live text of Sunday's games via multiple platforms, starting with the Broncos-Jets clash at Tottenham (from 14:00 BST). Also, radio commentary can be heard through select stations for a separate game (beginning at 9 PM BST).

We're in the sixth week in the football calendar , after last week's discussion about two top teams being a potential Super Bowl match-up, they both lost their unbeaten records.

Striking in those games was the amount of infractions each committed. The Eagles did so in key moments meaning they essentially beat themselves after leading 17-3 entering the fourth period against Denver, set to play in London this Sunday.

But it proved positive to see that Denver's QB the rookie was able to have the shortfall before lead three scoring drives in three attempts during the final period, securing the game by four points.

Denver have the top defender with cornerback Pat Surtain II. They are first in red zone defence, whereas Philadelphia are number one in red zone offence, yet Denver won that contest.

They had effective strategies in terms of disguised blitzes. They weren't always sending more than four pass rushers instead they could plug two linebackers in the interior before drop them out and send a nickel off the edge.

At the start of the season, it was noted during a show how the Broncos could be this season's surprise contenders. They finished the previous year strongly and did a good job of building upon that.

Are the Denver Broncos this season's dark horses?

Recently acquired tight end Evan Engram has excelled significantly while new RB their rusher is a guy they believe in. He's currently fifth league-wide in ground gains (over 400) as well as tied for fourth in rushing scores (four).

I love how head coach the Broncos' leader displays "RUSH!" at the top of his playcall sheet.

This demonstrates how the Broncos are a squad aiming to prioritize the run, because one can do a lot based on that approach. It slows opposing rushes and keeps you in positive situations.

This has helped QB the young passer, who entered into the league as a first-round selection in the prior draft, passing for 29 touchdown passes – just behind Justin Herbert for the rookie record (31 in 2020).

Josh Allen and Herbert have powerful arms to pass anywhere, however they lack in the same way that Nix has. He boasts incredible arm talent, which is different, and he's so athletic.

His strengths are his mobility, the capacity to pass on the run, and finding varied release points to make throws when he rolls outside protection, on rollouts. He can deliver that layered pass across the middle or over the corner.

For a young quarterback, at 25, he's got a lot of poise in the pocket and isn't really fazed by extra rushers. He tries to evade being tackled whenever possible and can pass under pressure. He has sharp intelligence and is quick to decide.

When you constantly run the ball it consumes time and forces the opponent to be in play extended periods, and if you've got an athletic quarterback the defence has to cover the area vertically and horizontally. This proves exhausting.

Nix has bitten back at Payton during games at times and it seems the coach likes that attitude, that he's a fierce rival. In my view it's exciting for him to have a rookie QB who's similar to play-dough. He can truly build something up how he wants to shape him. I believe it's a special experience for him.

The head coach has won a Super Bowl and now passed Bill Parcells for career NFL wins (173, tying for 14th). He has witnessed it all. I think the achievements the Broncos are experiencing on offence is largely down to his leadership, his play-calling, his situational awareness – and the combination with the QB aids shape him into who he is.

There's no better a more qualified person in your ear, to assist you through difficult moments and build self-belief.

I believe in Denver's defence, in Bo Nix's tenacity and composure. Yet is the team good enough to go against a top squad at its best? Because that was not championship-level play from Philadelphia last Sunday.

Currently, it's unlikely Denver are elite. They're working above average, which is a good place to be in their division. The key to do to continue this path.

They're really good at embracing their strength, which is running the ball, and that's exactly what they must do against the Jets in London. It's going to be a Dobbins-focused game, essentially.

New York have allowed 140 yards on the ground each contest (among the worst), five ground scores this season (10th worst), and they are the only team without a win a game.

Ever since the league started recording turnovers decades ago, the Jets are the first team to be without a single takeaway through five games, this is kind of shocking considering that the head coach was previously defensive co-ordinator at the Detroit Lions.

Patrick Mahomes stated the Chiefs are off to a poor start after a recent loss to Jacksonville.

After the upcoming matchup, the Broncos face a smooth-ish schedule up to their bye (in week twelve) - the New York Giants, Dallas Cowboys, Houston Texans plus Las Vegas Raiders before the Kansas City Chiefs.

In the AFC West, the Chiefs are 2-3 while Denver are tied with the Chargers at 3-2 meaning they could make a run for the top of the West.

This hinges upon what version Kansas City shows up they face since the Broncos {beat|def
