Emma Raducanu made it to the third stage in three Grand Slam tournaments Grand Slams this year.

The British tennis star Emma Raducanu has withdrawn from her final two events of the year due to a medical condition she has been battling in recent days.

Raducanu, aged 22 had planned to participate in Tokyo and Hong Kong but has decided to fly home to recover prior to beginning her preparations for 2026.

Those preparations will involve trainer Francisco Roig, as the pair will keep partnering for the upcoming season.

Raducanu underwent blood pressure monitoring while playing the initial match versus Ann Li in the Wuhan tournament and retired when behind 6-1 4-1 on a very muggy occasion.

Another medical visit was necessary a doctor's assessment at the recent Ningbo Open, where she lost in three sets to Zhu Lin, a Chinese wildcard in the opening round.

She was also playing noticeably restricted in the deciding set versus Zhu due to the lower back problem that has troubled her on several occasions in 2025.

Those results followed a positive campaign, in which Raducanu rose into the top 30 globally after more than three years in more than three years, finished with a trio of defeats.

She held three match points prior to falling to American player Jessica Pegula in the third round in Beijing last month.

The player achieved 28 matches during 2025 and advanced to the semis in Washington, but her standout performance was at March's Miami Open.

As Britain's top player advanced to the quarters of a premier WTA event, beating eighth seed Emma Navarro on the way prior to a loss in three sets to Pegula, ranked fourth.

She was coached by Mark Petchey between Miami and Wimbledon, with Roig taking over in time for the US Open.

The first plan with Rafael Nadal's former coach was through the season's conclusion but the partnership will continue, with planned training sessions in the coming months.

She mentioned that her three-day trial with Roig after Wimbledon was like a "black ops mission" as they tried to keep the meeting secret.

She came very close to beating world number one Aryna Sabalenka at their initial event as a team in August's Cincinnati tournament.

Roig was also with Raducanu in New York, where she made the third stage before being beaten by Rybakina, champion at Wimbledon in 2022.
