Mohamed Salah Issues Apology to Teammates, Discloses Curtis Jones
The Liverpool midfielder has shared that Mohamed Salah apologised to the entire Liverpool squad after the controversy from his recent interview.
What Happened
The striker was dropped from a European match after voicing frustrations and claiming his connection to the head coach had soured.
“Mo is his own man and he can say his own stuff,” Jones revealed. “He said sorry to the group and was like: ‘Should anyone feel slighted, please accept my apology.’”
The manager has previously declined to disclose on whether he got an explanation from the veteran striker.
Team Unity
He emphasized that the dressing room atmosphere stayed normal. “He was the exact same Mo, he was smiling and everybody was exactly the same with him,” he continued.
The midfielder also noted that a teammate fighting for a place is preferable. “I understand there are certain ways you can go about things,” he said. “But if a lad’s fine to just sit out, then I think that’s a bigger problem.”
Team Form
The team's performance have stayed unbeaten in the games following the initial controversy. He feels the Salah's words were never meant to destabilise the squad.
“When there’s been any sort of anger, it has consistently come from a desire to win,” the midfielder stated. “That chapter is closed and we’re uniting strongly, playing well and starting to win games.”
