Football Expert Chris Sutton Battles Singer Olly Murs in Premier League Forecasts

The Gunners' 10-game victorious run came to an end by the Black Cats before the international break, however will the English top division leaders recover against north London rivals Tottenham this weekend?

"{I feel like Arsenal are light years ahead of Tottenham at the moment but Spurs boss Thomas Frank will have a plan for this game," remarked soccer specialist Chris Sutton.

"Frank will try to neutralize Arsenal, who have not always been at their sparkling finest this campaign - but Mikel Arteta's side usually still find a way to win."

The analyst is making predictions for all 380 Premier League games this term, against AI, readers and a variety of special visitors.

In week 12, he faces performer Olly Murs, who is a Manchester United supporter.

The singer's new record, the new release, is out on the weekend.

Soccer and Parenting Life

Olly is a talented soccer player as well as a accomplished singer and has been a star of multiple charity football games down the years - but he is not planning a professional return as a player.

"{I actually played in a charity match the other evening for a friend of mine," he said. "The team was losing 3-1 when I came off in the second half, and they proceeded to win 4-3, so you can interpret that what you want!

"I continue to love football, but I hurt my knee a few years ago and it even now isn't where I want it to be. I hope I could play more but the unpredictability of the sport means it's too dangerous for me in my profession to do it properly again.

"Additionally I am forty-one now, and we are not all Cristiano Ronaldo, are we!? No, I am very happy not playing football and I am gearing up for the moment that my child or boy chooses to play instead."

The singer and his wife his partner have a young family, their daughter and Albert, and he is ready to follow in his father's footsteps by taking on the role of their coach.

"I will not push football on our children but I've already told my wife that if they happen to get the bug for it then I will have to go and get my manager qualifications - and I will likely be coaching their weekend soccer side," he added.

"I watched my relatives play a lot, and I really got into it, and I obviously was involved with a soccer team for a while too.

"My dad coached with us when I was a child, which is likely where I get it from. He coached our team for two or three seasons and had a wonderful time with it. That might be the next step for me as well, and I am looking forward to it!"

Premier League Predictions

Weekend, 22 November

  • Turf Moor, 12:30 GMT

Chelsea may have to be patient for their star's comeback from fitness issues but their attack is already more potent with Pedro and Liam Delap both back fit.

In my opinion this game will be fairly tight, however. The Clarets are disciplined and their sole at Turf Moor losses so far have been against the Reds and the Gunners.

It smells of a 1-1 draw to me, but I am in fact going to choose the London side to win narrowly for what would be their third league win in a row.

Sutton's prediction: 1-2

Olly's pick: The Blues will be superior. 1-3

Artificial intelligence's prediction: 0-2

  • Vitality Stadium, 15:00 GMT

Bournemouth have been defeated in their previous couple games - although both of them were on the road - but they got absolutely spanked by Villa last time out which shocked me.

On the other hand, the Hammers won back-to-back victories before the hiatus and, although both of those fixtures were at their stadium, they do look competitive again.

West Ham's sole away victory this campaign came at Nottingham Forest in the summer, when West Ham boss Nuno Espirito Santo was still that team's manager.

Therefore, what exactly do I predict here - can West Ham extending their run under Nuno, or Bournemouth bouncing back?

I am going to choose the Cherries, because I think what happened against Aston Villa was a blip.

The pundit's prediction: 2-0

Olly's outlook: Bournemouth are doing well but the visitors have improved under their boss. 2-2

The algorithm's pick: 1-1

  • Amex Stadium, 15:00 GMT

Brentford were considered one of the favourites for the drop before the campaign began, but they have impressed a few observers under their manager and are in good form with three in their past four games.

A family member told me to select Bees striker Thiago in my Fantasy Football squad a few weeks back and, unfortunately, I didn't listen.

The forward will probably find the net again on Saturday but I am nonetheless not going to pick him or back the away side at Amex Stadium.

The Bees have not had great fortune on the road this season, and Brighton are always decent at home. Brentford will attempt to hit them on the counter-attack but I think Fabian Hurzeler's team pose much more of a danger.

Sutton's prediction: 2-1

Olly's prediction: This could be a match where you think there is going to be a many goals but it actually proves to be quite tight. 1-1

The computer's prediction: 2-1

  • Craven Cottage, 15:00 GMT

This is a huge game for the Cottagers, who have suffered defeat in five of their past six matches.

Fulham have got lots of quality in their squad but it still feels like they could be sucked into a relegation fight.

Regarding the Black Cats, indeed they are the surprise package of the top flight season so far.

The away side's display in the 2-2 tie with Arsenal last time out was superb. We've not witnessed any other team rough up the North London side like that this season, and Sunderland were fully competitive for them.

The sensible thing would be to back the Black Cats here, because they are obviously capable of disrupting Fulham up too and, the previous occasion they were in west London, they beat Chelsea at the close of last month.

But I am not do that. Instead, I truly need to carry on opposing Sunderland with my predictions. I am claiming a lot of responsibility for their positive outcomes because they clearly love to defy my predictions.

Looking at Fulham's home record, the only team they have lost to is the league leaders. Their manager's team will be absolutely desperate for a good outcome, so I am going to predict they will pick up three points.

The expert's forecast: 1-0

Olly's choice: I'm aware the visitors are performing strongly and also that the hosts are on a poor streak... but they have still been respectable at home this campaign. 2-0

AI's outlook: 2-0

  • Anfield, 15:00 GMT

It is a tough fixture to predict. Liverpool have lost seven of their past 10 matches in every tournament, but could they be one of the teams who benefit from the {international break|
