Ex- Doctor Faces Sexual Assault Charges Against Thirty-Eight Individuals in His Care
Legal authorities report that a former doctor now faces charges for committing sexual assaults involving 38 victims who were under his care.
The Grave Allegations
The accused, Nathaniel Spencer from Birmingham is accused of dozens of acts of sexual assault – some of which involve acts against minors under the age of thirteen – between 2017 and 2021.
A senior CPS official said, “Our prosecutors have worked at length to assist a detailed and complex police inquiry, meticulously examining the evidence to determine that there is sufficient evidence to bring the case to trial and that it is in the interest of justice.”
Scope of the Police Inquiry
These allegations come after what police called a “complex investigation” into reported sexual offences at medical facilities: the Royal Stoke university hospital and a facility in Dudley.
The defendant is scheduled to appear at the local magistrates' court on January 20th.
List of Offences
The charging documents outline the 45 sexual offences comprise:
- Fifteen counts of sexual assault.
- 17 counts of assault by penetration.
- 9 counts of assault on a minor under thirteen.
- Three counts of penetrative assault on a child under thirteen.
- 1 count of attempted penetrative assault.
Police are urging anyone with concerns to get in touch with the investigating team.
