Disaster Hits as Unintentional Detonation at Police Station in Indian-administered Kashmir Claims Nine Lives
A devastating blast at a police station in the Indian-controlled part of Kashmir has caused the loss of nine people and harm to thirty-two more, according to authority reports.
The incident happened when a cache of confiscated explosives accidentally blew up during processing activities.

The blast took place on Friday night at the Nowgam security post, where detonation agents confiscated in the Faridabad area in the northern state of Haryana were being kept briefly.
Regional police chief declared that the detonation substances were scheduled for scientific analysis when a "deeply regrettable" accident during processing caused their detonation at approximately 23:20 local time.

Law enforcement officials verified that this was an "unintentional explosion" and rather than a terror incident. "Alternative theories regarding the reason of this occurrence is unnecessary," emphasized the law enforcement head during a journalist meeting.
The police station endured significant harm from the detonation, with neighboring structures also being affected by the powerful blast.
Impact and Casualties
Multiple vehicles were "consumed by fire and transformed into ashen remains, with wreckage spread across the site," according to authority statements.
"The force of the explosion was such that some physical fragments were retrieved from adjacent homes, approximately between 100 and 200 meters from the security post," stated an authority informant.
The majority of the casualties were police officers, along with technical investigation team, two evidence documentation specialists, and a garment worker who was present with the personnel.

The territory's Regional Leader expressed commiserations and announced that an investigation had been ordered into the catastrophic occurrence.
"I have ordered a investigation to ascertain the reason of the inadvertent detonation. Extremely pained by the death of valuable individuals due to exceptionally devastating inadvertent detonation at Nowgam law enforcement facility in Srinagar. My sympathies to the mourning loved ones. I pray for quick healing of the injured," wrote the authority on social media.
