The United Kingdom is prepared to move forward with employing the total value of frozen Russian assets to aid Ukraine's defense operations, Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer has announced.

In a joint statement, the leaders of the United Kingdom, the French Republic, and Germany stated that this unified step would escalate tension on Moscow's head Vladimir Putin and persuade Moscow to participate in talks.

They added that the move would be implemented in strong partnership with the America.

United Kingdom sanctions have blocked over £25bn of Russian funds since Moscow launched its full-scale invasion against the Ukrainian nation in 2022. Yet, previously, resources sent to Ukraine using Russian assets had only been drawn from earnings and returns accrued on them.

Sir Keir assured President Volodymyr Zelensky that the United Kingdom, the French Republic, and the Federal Republic of Germany were united in their desire to push forward toward employing the full value of the frozen Moscow's national holdings to conclude the conflict.

He added that further restrictions over the next period would increase the strain on Moscow.

This declaration is subsequent to European officials convened in the Danish capital recently to debate using seized Russia's funds for a €140 billion financial aid to the Ukrainian nation.

Last month, US President Donald Trump encouraged Group of Seven partners to seize or utilize immobilized Russia's assets, according to reports.

The total of seized Russian assets in the EU is calculated to be nearly €211bn.

Moscow carried out large-scale bombardments across Ukraine on that day, causing power cuts in large parts of the capital city, the city, and several other zones.
